Fireplace

This personal project sought to create a feature of an inset stove to provide a focus within the room. While the previous fireplace provided a centre point for the sitting room, it was large and overbearing. The intention with the redesign was to retain the spirit of a traditional fireplace as the focal point of the room albeit in a more modern and simplistic manner. A steel hearth plate is set flush to the floor and provides a setting for the stove and surround which consists of painted ribbed vermiculite with a steel trim piece.
